Technical requirements for Pipex Business

Setting up Pipex Business Broadband couldn't be easier.

Here's what you'll need for Pipex Business Broadband:

  • BT telephone line or similar, excluding Kingston Communications and cable
  • PC or Mac computer with a CD-Rom drive
  • Connection device (you'll receive a FREE WiFi router when broadband is taken on a 12 month contract).
  • 1 spare Ethernet port.
  • Broadband microfilters
    (you receive two FREE from Pipex, but you will need a microfiliter for every phone socket in your house sharing the same phone line as your Pipex Broadband.)

The FREE Wifi Router you'll receive from Pipex is compatible with the following operating systems:

  • Windows 2000, ME, XP, Vista
  • Mac OSX, Mac OS 9

If you are using the connection device provided by Pipex you will need an Ethernet port on your computer to plug the WiFi Router or Ethernet Modem into. Should you need it, Pipex can offer technical support to install the WiFi Router or Ethernet Modem we send you. If you’re using your own equipment not supplied by Pipex we'll try and help you to connect; however, you may need to refer back to the original manufacturer. Please also be aware that if your line supports an up to 16Mb service you will need to ensure that any 3rd party hardware not supplied by Pipex is ADSL2+ compatible and that it is using the latest firmware, for further information please refer to your hardware manufacturers support site.


Here's what you'll need for Pipex TalkTime:

  • An active telephone line where the line rental is provided and invoiced by BT.
  • A UK compatible telephone handset.

Legals:

Although it may be technically possible to connect to our broadband service, Pipex cannot support customers using 64 bit operating systems.
